Lake Coolmunda Caravan Park - Qld. (Near Inglewood)

Well after being informed by the managers at Kapunda Fishing Park (St George, Qld) that they won't be opening the park over Easter due to a second wave of torrential rains we were concerned that our Easter plans may have gone up in smoke. So I sat down by the phone and went through all of the bush parks within a 600k radius of home and finally found one that had vacancies.

This van park is a veritable oasis approx. 100k east of Goondiwindi and 13k east of Inglewood. They have cabins, powered and non powered sites, a pool, a camp kitchen and a train than goes though at 4am in the morning (only once a week tho' ... ). TV reception was remarkable considering we were out at 'whoop whoop' and Coolmunda Lake is only a kilometre or so from the park and is stocked with the usual fish that you catch in dams.

Price was pretty good @ $22/night for two people.

I should also mention that there is free camping at the lake itself. No amenities but you can camp close to the shore. For those who want to rough it ...
