| We stayed here approx. 3 weeks ago on our trip to Longreach and it was COLD!!! Woke up to ice on the car and van so checked temp. ... MINUS FOUR!!! Despite the low temperature it didn't stop us enjoying the park.
Facilities were fairly average but nice and clean with squirt soap and hand towels (or air dryer) for patron use.
Very nice lake with abundant bird life.
There are ensuite sites which looked ok but not much shade. We had a drive thru' powered site and it cost us $22/night (that's with the TT discount).
Staff were VERY helpful ... and there was a seafood dinner put on by staff for anyone interested. It cost $15 and all proceeds went to the RFDS. The meal was very nice so no complaints from me ...
I'd certainly be happy to stop here again.

| Scols, did you by any chance have a peek at the Gundy Star CP, while you were in town. Looking to stop there on the way back from Dubbo at Easter. | |

| I didn't mate but here's a breif report from someone who has been there. This is a nice sized park not far off the main highway. There are a number of large drive through sites. Most sites are grassed although they will get dry during the dry and busy season. The amenities are unisex ensuites and are clean. Powered sites are $26-30 and the park is a member of the Family Parks group. There are a few long term residents but the park caters mainly for tourists. We have stayed there previously and have found it quite welcoming. Hope this helps. Come back via St George/ Yarraman and we can bump into each other. Scol. | |

| Thanks for that. We are planning to stay at the BIG4 elsewhere, mainly as you get a fair idea what to expect from their webpages. Mind you pay for them though. St George is going to be a bit off track and short for time. Will have to run you off the road another time. | |

| Yeah St George is a tad west of you ... but just being in my company is worth the extra trip ... Scol. | |
