After nearly 8 hrs on the road this place is an oasis.
The sites are all drive though so no need to unhitch. When we were there in 2007 the camper kitchen was only just finished so we didn't get a chance to use it but it looked good and clean.
For $18/night we thought it very reasonable but be warned you need $1 to use the coin operated box thingy to have a 5min hot water. Fair enough when you consider you are in a desert region. Ablution block was clean and there is a laundry facility.
The park is situated on top of a hill so you get a GREAT view of the
'Bite'. When we were there it was a full moon and to be honest I've
never seen a moon quite like it. Only down side is the WIND! If you
haven't pegged your tent/ CT down it will blow away. A mighty storm went through when we were there which was fun to be in but I'm glad I packed the heavy tent peg hammer!
There is a lot to do and see around the area and the park is adequate for several days of exploring.
I enjoyed it and would not hesitate camping there again.
