We decided to spend a few days doing nothing at a park away from any
major towns and Rollingstone Caravan Park certainly fitted the bill.
The park itself is situated right on the beach front overlooking Palm
Island. We had beach front ensuite sites (we're wuss's!) and the
ensuties were certainly very clean and well presented.
As is the case with some of these 'resort' style parks there was a
pool complete with waterfall and man-made cave.
There is also a lake roughly in the middle of the park with some
rather large Barra ... no fishing tho'!
Given the time of year there were only a handful of vanners at the
park which certainly added to the solitude of the place although I'm
told that in the winter months it is usually packed out with vans.
We did venture out on one or two occasions and I would certainly
recommend travelling to the Paluma Range National Park and Rainforest
Village. It's an amazing experience and if the cloud closes in around
the mountain you coulod be forgiven for thinking you were at Katoomba
or somewhere similar.
We'd certainly go back again if we're ever up that way and more than
likely grab a beach front ensuite site ... again!
