That surprises me ... the TD's are WAY overpriced here. Can get a reasonable '03 V8 for around the $20-$25k mark.

Bummer! They are a very smooth ride ... even when towing .. would be good to know your fuel figures when you do them. Comparo of the 6 cylinder to the V8.

Yeah those coopers will definately affect the fuel consumption.

I can get 12.5ltrs/100k not towing hwy cycle but get around 17 around town.

Until I begin to tow a 2.8tonne van ... then it is anywhere between 21 and 28ltrs per 100. But that`s what you get when vanning eh?

Was more like high 20's maybe 30/100km. My speedo was 6 km out so maybe not quite so bad but wasn't good. I took the 33' coopers off as they were contributing to poor economy and zapped a bit of power away towing and put standard A'T's back on.

Yeah any bling will kill fuel economy.

I have the Standard cruiser tyres on my 100 but a 2.5inch lift. Talking to those guys without a lift it makes no difference. I'm even getting 12.5kph not towing on highway cycle which is pretty good for a V8 cruiser.

I am one of the few that don't believe a lift reduces economy. Simple reason being that you don't increase the frontage that hits the wind. It's the same space ... just there is an extra space (2" usually) underneath the car ... thus the same wind drag on the same car but slightly elevated -- make sense?

I want to get a larger Sub tank but to do that I have to remove the spare tyre to replace the new tank AND replace the Toyo tow Chassis thingy AND fit a new wheel crarrier to the rear of the vehicle. All up cost is $5k for a $1k fuel tank ... I can wait a while.

They reckon lifting increases fuel use. 5k pheeeww yeah I wouldn't mind a long range tank myself but I would be going from the dog house to the shite house Laughing

Well look at my fuel figures. I also found the same with the Paj ... no difference when I lifted it. Only going from personal experience. Tyres are the main killer ... that an gear stored on Roof racks.
