Beef Curry with Potatoes

1 kg stewing steak diced 4 tblspns oil 2 onions
chopped 2 cloves garlic 1/2 tspn chilli powder 1
tblspn ground cumin seed 1 tspn minced ginger 1 1/2
tspn ground coriander seed 2 tblspns tomato paste 375
g new potatoes

Heat oil, add onions and spices, cook over high heat in camp oven till onions are lightly coloured. Add water to keep mixture moist if necessary. Add meat, stir till browned. Add tomato and sufficient water to cover meat. stir well. Bring to boil, simmer covered 30 minutes. Add potatoes (diced or whole as preferred) Simmer covered until potatoes are cooked through, adding water if necessary. Serve
