Well after several trip failures since we bought our new van we finally got away and decided to head to Imbil for 4 days. I've already done a report on Imbil Camping Resort so nothing to add except the place is just as good as last time although I'm sure the secret is now well and truly out ... Sad

Quick Trip DSC00493

Basic pic of the new van and the set up. We're very lucky in that the shade cloth from the Jayco fitted the new van perfectly. While it was set up we checked out the overall measurements. Now don't forget that this van is labelled a 17ft van but after our measuring we found the ecternal measurements to be 18.5ft and the internal measurement 17 2/3 feet ... Shocked Don't ask me how they labelled it 17ft but I'm not bothered and as it's exactly what we're after.

Another shot ... note the cut-a-way. Already had cause to use it so very glad we got it.

Mildy concerned about the battery set up. We had very little sunlight so we were using battery power. It only lasted 72 hrs (three days) and then we had to hook up to power so might get a mate to check the batts and make sure they're ok.

Get out out there fellas.

Very Happy

No probs towing. It's obvious it's heavier but she's still pretty comfortable with it.

In comparison to the Jayco fuel is about the same when on the open road but quite noticeable when on windy mountain paths. Headwinds are a fuel killer and if you have a headwind while goiing on a windy road with a long kayak strapped to the top then just don't even think about looking at the fuel gauge ... it's scary! Shocked

Wink

I checked a few forums and the consensus is there not much good ... MAY save approx. 5% but you pay more than that for the scoop itself. I'm not too bothered by it ... it's part of vanning really.
