Burrum Heads Beachfront Tourist Park Empty
PostSubject: Burrum Heads Beachfront Tourist Park   Burrum Heads Beachfront Tourist Park Icon_minitimeSat Jan 02, 2010 6:04 am

I've been spending a bit of time on my own at this van park (I'm still with the wife ... just work here on my own!) and I do like it very much.

Burrum Heads really is the quintessential seaside town. This also means that you will need to bring in most of your supplies ... Hervey Bay is approx. 35km's away and Howard is 20k's away. There is a basic general store, a bakery, a post office and a pub that does some great meals but that's about it.

In one way the park is odd in that it's split in two by a bitumen road which is in full use. It doesn't detract from the park but could become confusing if it's your first time there.

I tend to stay on the waterfront sites which cost more but are well worth it. The only thing is this park is well known for it's waterfront sites so you need to book well in advance ... approx. 12 months should do it!

The amenities are fairly large and clean. There are bbq's and a camper kitchen althought the camper's kitchen is in the second half of the park so if you wish to use it and you are near the waterfront it is a bit of a hike.

Manager's Phil and Marilyn are very helpful (especially to a deaf sod like me) and Phil will park your van in the tight sites with his tractor. Most waterfront sites need Phil to park the van for you.

If you stay for 7 nights you pay for 6 and if you stay longer than 6 weeks (some stay 6 months) you get a 10% discount after the 6th week.
