We went to this van park when our tow vehicle broke down in July
2008.
Considering we didn't have time to check it out I was pleasantly
surprised by the general ambience of the park.
There is an enclosed camp kitchen with TV and lounge, handy if it's
raining! A nice pool (not too deep for the young ones) and public
phone that was out of order when we there but the staff at the park
were really great and considered our position (ie. Stuck with no
communications) and allowed us to use the office phone so we could
check on the vehicles progress).
It seems that there are not many annexe pads here so if you like to
have a concrete pad with your powered site you might be pushing it a
bit but having said that it's fairly roomy. BUT, if it rains when
you're there careful you don't get bogged (it happened to our
neighbour).
The main rail line is quite close but the sound isn't as bad as I
thought it would b e. Oddly enough you're on the main approach route
to Gladstone airport so that provides a bit of fun when the larger
planes land or take off.
600m walk to major shops - K-mart, Wollies, Hungry Jacks etc.
I don't agree with its 4.5 star rating but I still liked the park and
would happily go back there again.
